Level 1 Umpires 

(must be at least 12 years of age to start)

Year 1 - Offence (odd numbered years)

Year 2 - Defense (even numbered years)

 

Level 2 Umpires

Year 1 - Offense (2018)

Year 2 - Defense (2019)

Year 3 - Game Management (2017)

 

Level 3 Umpires

Year 1 - Online Exam Only

Year 2 - Online Exam Only

Year 3 - Level 3 Clinic (next level 3 clinic will be in 2019)

  
In terms of students doing multiple clinics in a year, unfortunately we only allow students to take one clinic a year, starting with Level 1, in order to move through the program as set out by Baseball Canada as they have standardized the umpiring program across Canada. Under this new system that was implemented about three years ago by Baseball Canada, Umpires start at Level 1 and must attend a Level 1 clinic for two years before advancing to the Level 2 clinics. Level 2 umpires will progress through 3 years of clinics for offense, defense, and game management before advancing to Level 3. The progression works as follows:
